Pechet + Robb has been working with the City of Victoria on a redevelopment project for Ross Bay Cemetery’s Southwest Quadrant. The design addresses three distinct edge conditions: a neighbourhood street, a prominent corner, and a beach-front road. The design is intended to:

• improve security along this vulnerable edge to combat increasing vandalism
• beautify the area in a manner which is sympathetic to the existing cemetery
• provide new interment options for a range of economic and social needs

To date, this project has identified several thousand interment sites which range from garden court columbaria to waterfront memorial walls. Vehicle and pedestrian entrances are marked with gates, benches and lighting.
