Pechet and Robb is currently working in collaboration with PWL Partnership Landscape Architects on the redesign of 9 blocks of Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver, Canada.
This complex street is the historic centre of the city’s nightlife and cultural scene; has a mixture of high-end, and low-end retail , and is the emerging transit hub of 3 subway lines, trolley buses and heavy pedestrian activity. The street also has numerous hotels, low income housing.
Our studio is concentrating on a suite of vertical lighting elements, which will rekindle the reputation of Granville as ‘the great white way’, as Vancouver’s epicenter of entertainment. The tubes will echo the marquee signage which typifies the street, and offers opportunities for artists to design seasonal shades for the top 4’ of the fixtures.
Our collaboration with PWL also includes benches, custom stone and concrete paving patterns, bike racks, and other infrastructure elements.
